Editor: Michael Marco

Bob Aspromonte played for both the Houston Colt 45’s and the Astros.
As a member of the Colt 45’s, he was the first official game batter in Houston’s big league baseball history and scored the franchise’s first run on April 10, 1962.
Bob also was the first Astro to hit a home run in the ‘Dome.
In September of 1956, he appeared in one game for the Brooklyn Dodgers. And, in 1971, as a member of New York Mets, he was the last Brooklyn Dodger to appear in a major league game.
He still treasures his memory of Jackie and Rachel Robinson
